Mighty Bee Coconut Review

July 11, 2015 by HealthyJon Leave a Comment

The coconut water market has been growing rapidly for the last couple of years and is now worth over £22 million in the UK alone. In such a saturated market it can be difficult to stand out in the crowd. A problem that doesn’t seem to be effecting newcomer, Mighty Bee. Their two flagship products (Raw & Virgin coconut water) have fast become my favourite coconut water drink on the market, thanks to their pure and exotic taste. Their products have a distinct sweet flavour, due to them being made from Nam Hom coconuts sourced in Ratchaburi, Thailand.

Like most coconut waters on the market non of their products are pasteurized (heat treated), but what sets Mighty Bee apart is their “Virgin coconut water”. This bottle has not been High Pressure Processed (HPP), a process used to increase the products shelf life. This means that once defrosted it will go off in about 5 days, but more nutrients remain intact.

Part of the reason I fell in love with Mighty Bee is the companies sheer creativity. They have come up with some fantastic and ingenious ways to use coconuts. I met the Mighty Bee team for the first time at Taste of London and tried their not yet released, coconut jerky. Yep you heard me. Meat eaters watch out because this stuff is absolutely amazing! It was available in two flavours and is essentially dehydrated coconut rubbed in spices. I am currently unsure as to whether this product will actually make it to market but my fingers are firmly crossed. On top of this They have just released virgin coconut meat in a re-sealable bag and are currently working on some delicious recipes to show us all how to use it. Basic recommendations are; smoothies, baking, raw cheesecakes and as a garnish for cereal or yoghurt.
