Mighty moringa, the king of super-foods! Loaded with 24x the iron of spinach, 21 x calcium of milk, it is almost 25% protein and this recipe has tones of it. After all the hot sunny days we have been having I wanted to make a lighter more refreshing smoothie bowl recipe. I actually took my inspiration from the ever so popular summer cocktail, the mojito. Clean in flavour and full of vitamins and minerals to energize your morning.
Mint and Moringa Smoothie Bowl Recipe
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 handful of spinach
- 1 handful of green grapes
- 1 handful of fresh mint leaves
- 100-150ml of almond milk
- 1 tsp. of moringa powder
- ½ lime (juice)
- Put all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and blitz away.
- Pour into a bowl and garnish with what ever you like. I used a little desiccated coconut, bee pollen and mint leaves.
Almond milk can be replaced with any non-dairy alternative, although I wouldn't suggest hazelnut milk for this recipe.
Green, green, green goodness. If you are timid about putting greens in your smoothies (as so many of us are), this is a great recipe to start with. It is light and fragrant, the dominant flavours are mint and lime, just like the mojito it is modelled after. You cant even taste the spinach. #drinkyourgreens
